It’s just criminal…To insert the new points that give access to the baseboard, we set to work destroying part of the existing dock scene. Firstly lifting off the plasticard cobbles and then digging out the foam card below. (How much glue did you use...!) 
Then using our paper template the approximate track path and turnout locations were transferred to the baseboard. Remember it’s nice smooth curves starting from a static point and building out……
The existing rail was then cut back flush and after some struggle the new points were simply inserted…. Well not exactly a rather sticky set of rail joiners and an over eager shove results in a new profile on the tracks (ooops!) The next twenty minutes are spent trying to rectify the damage.
To finish off for the day a luscious coat of black paint and don’t forget the mandatory wet paint signs.
